Responsibilities for Medical Assistant/Front Desk Assistant

  • Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients.
  • Check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange laboratory services.
  • Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients' health history.
  • Set-up EKG machines, administer injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests.
  • Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments.
  • Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams.
  • Assist with management of the inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum three (3) years of ambulatory surgery center and/or cardiac cath lab experience as a registered nurse.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required.
  • Working knowledge of nursing practice in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative spaces in an ambulatory surgery center, cardiac cath lab, and/or operating room setting required
  • Excellent communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
  • Demonstrates accountability, skill and knowledge to practice within scope of position responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates an above average ability to organize, prioritize, analyze, anticipate, interpret, evaluate and problem solve to provide a safe, effective, functional environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and other position specific software

Job Description:

Demonstrated skills for advanced learning in echocardiology studies.

Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Ability to work well with others.

Good communication skills.

Good organizations skills.

Capable of performing lifting and transferring related to patient care.

Capable of moving ultrasound equipment for portable studies.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement : Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.

For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.

Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Purpose: To provide quality cardio diagnostic and noninvasive testing. Provides related clerical responsibilities necessary for physician interpretation and department record keeping. To provide to the interpreting physician, through the noninvasive diagnostic imaging techniques of ultrasound, a complete and accurate documentation of cardiac anatomy and cardiac performance. To satisfy the requirement of the accrediting body for diagnostic echocardiography.

Accountabilities:

Provides competent and proficient technical skills in the cardiac ultrasounds implementing procedural standard and protocols for the following modalities.

Provides patient care specific to procedural requirements and patient's need (under the supervision of the physician) within established departmental protocols.

Maintains an organized, safe and efficient work environment

Provides clerical function necessary for physician's interoperation, department, records and patient billing.

Development and ongoing maintenance of collaborative relationships with department staff, physicians, and related external contacts in order to meet departmental objectives.

Full Job Description

Looking to fill a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist position to start ASAP. Tech will independently perform all routine nuclear cardiology procedures including SPECT imaging and produce high-quality diagnostic images to aid the cardiologist in their interpretations. Additional responsibilities include hot lab maintenance, daily QC, and follow state and ICANL regulations for maintaining nuclear laboratory licensing and accreditation.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum - Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program

License, Certification, Registration:

Certified Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

Certified with the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support.

Experience:

Six months of nuclear medicine experience preferred. This opportunity is in Private Practice due to exponential growth. No Weekends, Holidays or call.
