April 2025 NEWS

We all leave unique footprints in our path of life!!!

No two feet are exactly the same, and even the left and right foot of the same person can have differences in size, shape, and arch height.

In April and every month lets encourage those patients at risk for diabetic foot or other wound related complications to do the following:

  • Make sure to schedule and keep routine foot appointments
  • Encourage daily foot checks and notify you immediately of any changes
  • Bathe feet in lukewarm, never hot, water. …
  • Be gentle when bathing your feet. …
  • Moisturize your feet but not between your toes. …
  • Cut nails carefully. …
  • Never treat corns or calluses yourself. …
  • Wear clean, dry socks.
  • Make sure to have proper fitting shoes.

Please consider referring a patient for a vascular consult if they present with the following:

  • Arterial wounds that are not improving despite wound care.
  • Those patients that have recurrent wounds
  • Chronic Lower extremity swelling, pain or discomfort
  • Any resting leg pain
  • Pain while ambulating
  • Recurrent Venous ulcers
  • Suspected venous insufficiency
